Subject: 3rd Grade Teacher

Degree: MEd Elementary Ed Universtiy of Phoenix

Favorite Saint: St. Anthony because every time I misplace something and ask for St. Anthony’s help, I find it within 20 minutes.

Favorite Quote: “You got the makings of greatness in you, but you gotta take the helm and chart your own course! Stick to it, no matter the squalls! And when the time comes, you’ll get the chance to really test the cut of your sails and show what you’re made of!”- John Silver, Treasure Planet

Free Time Favorites: I enjoy hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains, walking with my husband and dog, reading adventures or biographies, and road trips.

Favorite Sports Teams: I follow the Seattle Seahawks, Mariners, Kraken, and Washington State University Cougars (Go Cougs!)

Most inspiring teacher: The teacher that inspired me the most in school was my eighth-grade Algebra 1 teacher, Mr. Kirkendall. I had a hard time with upper-level math, and Mr. Kirkendall was extremely patient and went above and beyond to help me understand the math. His class taught me that it is okay if the work is hard, but you still have to try, and that as long as you are willing to try, someone is there to help.

Anything else we should know about you? I love teaching and getting to see students figure out new material and challenge them to think deeply outside the box for their answers. I am also trying to visit all 63 US National Parks (currently at 23/63)!
