Ms. Vanessa Santos
Subject: 5th Grade
Degree: BS Education University of Miami
Favorite Saint: Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, often known as the “Man of the Beatitudes.” He’s a good reminder that holiness doesn’t have to be “boring.”
Favorite Quote: “The truth is the truth even if no one believes it, and a lie is still a lie even if everyone believes it.” — Archbishop Fulton Sheen
Free Time Favorites: Outside of school, you’ll usually find me traveling, crashing through waves at the beach, attending sporting events, or spending time with my family. I live life actively, always exploring new things and taking any and every opportunity to make a good memory.
Favorite Sports Teams: I’m a HUGE Miami Hurricanes fan—It’s All About the U! I’m also a Dolphins fan, so fall is my favorite time of year: college football, the NFL, and baseball. It’s the perfect trifecta and my students know game day = grading day. Lol.
Most inspiring teacher: Funny enough, my favorite school years were 3rd, 4th, and 6th grade. (Sorry, 5th!) Those teachers made me feel supported, valued, and those experiences still shape the kind of teacher I want to be.
Anything else we should know about you? I’m definitely a “fly by the seat of my pants” kind of person, which I like to call a healthy zeal for life. I love learning, trying new things, traveling, and experiencing different cultures. I try to bring that same curiosity and enthusiasm into my teaching.
