Counseling

Our school counselor is Mrs. Genny Coleman. Mrs. Coleman’s role as the school counselor is to create and implement a comprehensive school counseling program that meets the needs of all students. She does this by providing monthly classroom lessons on topics like conflict resolution, self esteem, organization, and friendship.  She also meets with students individually to address their concerns, or in a small group setting if a common theme is present. In order to ensure best practice, she collaborates with teachers and administration so as to complement the learning that takes place inside the classroom. Lastly, the school counseling program encourages and supportstudent achievement and development.

Meet Our Counselor

Genny Coleman, MA, NCC

Mrs. Coleman is the school counselor at St. Agnes. She feels very fortunate to have found this job upon completing her master’s degree in school counseling at George Washington University. She had previously attended the University of Mary Washington for her undergraduate degree, and there she received a bachelor’s in psychology. In her spare time, she loves to stay active by going for a run, practicing yoga, or hiking with her husband and their dog. This will be Mrs. Coleman’s seventh year as a school counselor, and she is looking forward to an exciting year ahead!
